Gaming supervisors monitor gaming operations and staff in an assigned area. Circulating among the table games, they make sure that all stations and games are attended to for each shift. It also is common for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating standards for guests. Supervisors may also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have certain leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these abilities both to supervise employees efficiently and to greet guests in order to promote return visits. Almost all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. No matter their their educational background, however, many supervisors gain experience in other gaming occupations before moving into supervisory positions because an understanding of games and casino operations is important for these workers.
